I'm a dividend growth investor who seeks out companies with a long history of increases in revenue, earnings and dividends. I then enhance those dividends and increase my income through the use of a proactive option strategy. This is often referred to as a Buy-Write Strategy for investing. My goal is to create a stream of passive income that will provide me with a life of financial stability and security.
I'm also an avid amateur photographer. I have been taking photographs most of my life. My primary camera is the Nikon D7100 with an 18-135 mm lens attached, but I'm also known to use other lenses as well as the camera on my iPhone 5. Increasingly the iPhone has become a better camera and is now approaching the quality previously found only on an SLR camera. In fact, one day, mirror less cameras may be the mainstay of all photographers.
I created this website to put all my strategies for stock market investing and financial independence, my better photographic images, and my random thoughts and ideas in one centralized location. By putting this all in one place, I have become a better investor, a better photographer and a better thinker.
Respectfully, Dennis McCain
More than a half century ago I was born to two wonderful and loving parents who lived during the depression and survived a world war to find each other and have me. The simple fact that they were able to find each other during the war is something I will be thankful for, for the rest of my entire life.
Now having been raised on the frozen tundra of the northern plains, I realized at a very early age that my future was going to be in the southern part of this country. And with parents that early on encouraged me to go to college I headed off to a place named Western Illinois University as soon as I graduated from High School. It was a great University and it made me an educated man, but I came out of college during a recession and my only skill was the ability to take tests.
After a year or so of crummy jobs and low wages, I headed off to Graduate School at North Carolina State University. It was there in Raleigh, NC, that I received my Master’s Degree in Social Psychology and met some stock market investors who survived the 1929 Crash. It was these guys who opened my eyes to the possibility of trading stock and investing for a future life I had never experienced. It was also their advice that became extremely helpful during Black Monday and the Crash of '87.
Since those days of my youth, I have spent a lifetime living in Texas and working for the Federal Government. And over the years I've only gotten better at investing and photography. For anyone thinking of pursuing this activity and lifestyle, I wish you the very best. It's both difficult and frustrating but you'll have a great, exciting and extremely entertaining life.
