Crude and the MultiNationals

8/2/2015

There's no doubt that the price of West Texas Intermediate Crude is affecting the price of the Multi-National Oil Companies, but there's also no doubt that the yields on these world class oil companies are rising fast and approaching record levels. If you're a dividend growth investor, these are exactly the kinds of companies and yields you dream about.

The two companies listed below are first class companies doing everything they can to produce the most profit possible for their shareholders while operating in a very difficult environment. These are great companies trying to compete with third world middle east and south american countries attempting to manipulate this industry and the very inventory these companies hold as their assets.

As a dividend growth investor I like to buy great companies on sale and I think these two companies are now on sale. In fact I consider them real bargains. I'm a long term investor who likes companies that increase their dividends over an extended period of time and these two companies are Dividend Aristocrats.

Now I don't have a crystal ball and I don't have any insight into where the price of oil is headed, but I do believe these companies will be here as long as the world needs energy. And I believe they'll continue to grow their dividends for many more decades in the future. And that's the kind of company I like to own.

So the price of crude may continue to falter in the months ahead, but I'm taking advantage of these current dividend yields available today to lock in a growing dividend stream at an initial high rate. I believe in the years ahead I'll look back and smile at these investments.

I am an Individual Investor with specific interest in long term growth and then enhancing my returns with income from dividends and derivatives. I don't recommend stocks to anyone (it's a good way to lose friends) and no one reading this should misinterpret my blog as a recommendation for any type of investment. I am writing this solely for myself and my kids.
