Most Dividend Growth Investors are pretty smart when it comes to researching and identifying great dividend stocks. They're also good at finding great entry points when buying into those stocks. This is one of the things I admire most about DG Investors. They're smart when it comes to identifying companies to "in"vest in. I just wish they were better at "out"vesting.
"Twice and thrice over, as they say, good is it to repeat and review what is good."
This is a strategy that I've adhered to for a very long time and it seems to work for me. If you have a different strategy, I hope it works for you. The key for me is to not get complacent with stock I already own and to review my holdings quarterly. As I've experienced over the years, life tends to change over time and companies tend to do the same. The companies that I bought many years ago may or may not be the same companies that I originally bought into. By reviewing each of the companies in my portfolio at least once per quarter I'm reconfirming the decision I originally made. For me it ensures that I'm still in the right stocks going forward.
