Kathy spent the day with a crew stripping out anything of value from the current lake house and cabin that could be used in the future by the team. It's the first step in the process of removing the current structures to make room for the new home. Financing should be in place next week and the building demolition should occur in the next weeks. Phase three of our project is about to begin. Wish us luck.
This may not seem like much but it's a beginning. It's a temporary power pole. It was placed there on the lake property by the electrician in order to transfer the electric from the lake houses to this pole. Soon Navasota Electric will be out and transfer the power.
This is just the first step of Phase 3 of our Lake Property project - Building Our Home. Once the electric is removed and all the paperwork is complete at the bank, demolition will begin. I'm told this can take a while so I don't expect the demolition to begin for a couple of weeks, but it's exciting to know the project has taken its first step forward.
I also expect it will take about six months to construct the house so we're expecting to be living in the house in early spring 2019, depending on the weather and the holidays. So we're excited and looking forward to the wonderful spring weather we often have in Central Texas and the fun we'll have cooking, playing and just spending a lot of time outdoors.
