
For anyone who doesn't know what a blue moon is, it's what the old timers call the full moon when it's the second full moon in a single calendar month. It only occurs once every two or three years so it's not extremely rare but it doesn't happen every month either.
So when the old timers tell you that something only occurs "once in a blue moon" you'll now know what they're talking about.
The photo you see here I took tonight sitting on my back deck. I was using my Nikon D7100 on a tripod, the zoom lens set at 300mm and an F stop set at 5.6. The image has been cropped to fill the frame and it was obviously color enhanced using iPhoto software. You don't really need to know that but some people are curious. I hope you enjoy the photo!
