The house is really starting to be viewable now. The outside is up but unfinished. The rafters are covered but the roof isn't up yet. The windows are in and we can start to identify individual rooms. We can also see what the high ceilings are going to look like in the Family Room and Kitchen.
Like most people that build a home, we're both impressed and in awe of the fact that an idea laid out as a simple napkin drawing is being constructed right before our eyes.
In the next few days the roofing guys, the plumbers and the electricians will be onsite. We'll be identifying outlets, switches, phone and cable locations.
The center photo is the view from the Family Room. It's due west so we'll get the sunsets every night with that view. It obviously will be the focal point of the entire house.
If you can't tell from the photos, it's an open design with large rooms. The lower photo is taken from the Family Room and looks into the Dining Room and Kitchen. That whole area will be open and delineated by different ceilings and support poles. Most impressive will be the vaulted ceilings.
It's finally beginning to look like the house we wanted with the views we knew we'd have. Peaceful, relaxing and quiet.
